“OBS: I do not recognise the legitimacy of this sentence. I’m innocent and I’m going to appeal. Lula”.
The ex-president Luis Inácio Lula da Silva sent a note together with the sentencing document that convicted him to 12 years and 10 months imprisonment for the Atibaia case.
On the 6 of February, the judge Gabriela Hurdt, a temporary substitute for the now minister, Sergio Moro, gave the new sentence against Lula, two days before leaving the case at the Federal Justice of Paraná.
The sentence is full of grotesque mistakes, to the point of mentioning the same informer, Leo Pinheiro, as being two different people. The judge Gabriela Hurdt also copied passages from ex-judge Moro in his triplex sentencing. Lula will appeal against this decision.
