1. On this Sunday, February 10, the day which marks the 39th year since the founding of the PT party, the Lula Livre Vigil fulfilled its mission of firmly maintaining the struggle for freedom for the ex-President and for the reestablishment of democracy in the country, with participation of representatives of various religions, social movements and bus caravans who came from across Brazil. With an open mic so that activists could express themselves any way they wanted, the area was captivated by music, dance, moving testimonies and poetry. Read more here:

2. The 39th anniversary celebration for the PT also featured a luncheon and get-together in the Marielle Lives Cultural Formation center in Curitiba, which was inaugurated in September, 2018. The area is located 100 meters from the federal police headquarters in Curitiba, and was named to honor slain city councilwoman Marielle Franco. In addition to exchanging ideas and strengthening relationships, the activists also enjoyed a variety of food prepared through a cooperative system by the Vigil activists. 3. Activists in Recife paid tribute to the anniversary of the PT in a creative way: at the city’s ground zero, they launched a white kite with the phrase “free Lula” stamped in red. Even though it was calm without much wind, they managed to launch it into a flight suggestive of freedom. Watch video here: https://bit.ly/2BuJnWZ

4. If there is one person qualified to talk about the founding of the Labor Party it is former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. There are many stories that have gone around about how the largest left wing party in Latin America arose. On this Sunday, the Lula Institute web page published a video with never before seen footage of an unforgettable speech by Lula, which was recorded in 1997. Watch it here: https://bit.ly/2TG9UaM
